About Us
Who We Are
Where We Are
Yes, we have a house, but Hillel is not a building, it is a community of students and staff playing and working together to create a warm and lively environment where Jewish students of all backgrounds - religious and secular - feel at home and included. The Grinspoon Hillel House provides a center for this Jewish life on campus. So, whether you're interested in social events, community
service, religious services, the arts - Hillel has it all. Recognized
internationally as a leader in creative campus programming, UMass Hillel
is the only campus Hillel in the world to win the William Haber Award
for outstanding programming six times!
We invite you to come and see
what Hillel at UMass is all about and what it has for you!
Opportunities for you include:
• Social events – BBQ’s, coffeehouses, hikes and sports - Check out the calendar.
• Community service – locally and in New Orleans, Uruguay, and Israel
• Israel – last year Hillel took 143 students to Israel on UMass group trips
• Shabbat and holiday services and meals (reform, conservative, and orthodox)
• Courses on Jewish cooking, social issues, everyday Hebrew, Bible, Talmud, etc.
• Residence in Hillel’s Jewish Living and Learning Community
• Information about jobs, scholarships, travel, study, careers
And much more…
Hillel House offers many helpful resources:
library, free WiFi, kosher kitchen & dining room, lounges and study
areas, conference room, the Max Goldberg Jewish Living and Learning Community housing up to 26 students on the third floor, along with the most important resource of all, our great staff.
